WTI slumps below $99.00 on profit-taking, US-Iran tensions in focus

West Texas Intermediate (WTI), the US crude oil benchmark, is trading around $98.50 during the early European trading hours on Friday. WTI tumbles as traders take some profits amid technical overbought conditions and US crude inventories fall less than expected.
